Business Days Calculator: Add & Count Workdays

Add or subtract business days (Mon–Fri) from a date, or count business days between two dates. Weekends excluded; share your scenario via link.

How to use the business days calculator

  1. Pick a mode: Add/subtract business days or Count between dates.
  2. Enter your start date (and end date when counting).
  3. For add/subtract, enter how many business days and choose Add or Subtract.
  4. Read the result date or business-day count. Use Copy link to save or share the scenario.

Example: 30 business days from a contract start

Start date Monday, June 1, add 30 business days: each Monday–Friday counts; Saturdays and Sundays are skipped. You get a landing date roughly six calendar weeks later—not the same as “30 calendar days,” which would be about four weeks. Compare with the add/subtract date tool if your contract says “30 days” without the word business.

Business days vs. calendar days

Business days (workdays) usually mean Monday through Friday. Calendar days include weekends. Loan rescission periods, some freight terms, and payroll cutoffs specify which rule applies—when in doubt, read the document. This page implements Mon–Fri only; it does not know your country’s public holidays.

To count every day between two dates, use the date difference calculator. To shift a date by calendar days or months, use add/subtract date.
